Manchester Airport is the global gateway to the North of England and is located in Wythenshawe. Every year the airport handles around 19 million passengers using over 70 airlines flying direct to over 210 destinations worldwide.
The airport opened in June 1938 and celebrates its 80th anniversary this year (2018). It is one of the largest centres of employment in the north west with more than 22,200 people directly employed on site, and it supports a further 45,000 jobs in the north west of England.
