Manchester Enterprise Academy Sixth Form offers access to the world of work and study delivered through close links with the sponsors and partners including Manchester Airport, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, Manchester City Council and Manchester United. Alongside the varied curriculum the Academy also provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, community involvement skills and other valuable life skills.
Manchester Health Academy Sixth Form offers a range of learning pathways, 1-2-1 tutor support, advice and guidance on higher education, apprenticeships and the world of work. Development of students’ independent learning skills, a nationally recognised enrichment & extra-curricular programme, work-based placements, volunteering opportunities and international experiences make this a great place to study.
Newall Green High School Sixth Form offers pathways into employment, apprenticeships and further training in construction, health and social care, early years, business administration, ICT, sports studies and personal training. Courses are enhanced through close links with local employers who provide mentoring and work experience opportunities. Alongside their main course students will complete courses in Skills for Employment and to improve GCSE grades if required.
The Manchester College Northenden Campus offers courses for school leavers, apprentices, adults and university-level students. £2 million has been invested in the campus which includes a wildlife haven within the grounds and wildlife corridors connecting the site to Wythenshawe Park.
Facilities include a large library resource centre, SkillZone with extensive IT tools, art and design workshops, fitness suite, football pitch, games area, canteen and coffee bar, purpose-built kitchen for catering courses, woodwork, ceramics and jewellery workshops, photography studios, and salons which are open to the public.
The Manchester College Wythenshawe Campus opened in 2010 and offers courses for school leavers and adults, including construction, motor vehicle maintenance, cabin crew and catering. The campus is built to be environmentally friendly and has innovative technology to save energy and to re-use resources. These include solar panels, wind catchers for natural ventilation and rainwater harvesting tanks. Facilities include a three-storey sixth form teaching block, air cabin, workshops, science labs, canteen, fitness suite, sustainability centre and a gourmet training restaurant, which is open to the public.
