Services on Metrolink’s line from Manchester city centre to Manchester Airport through Wythenshawe opened to passengers in November 2014, well over 12 months ahead of schedule and provides 15 stops along the line.
Trams run every 12 minutes between the Airport Transport Interchange to the Cornbrook stop, just outside Manchester city centre, and take around 45 minutes. At Cornbrook passengers can connect with frequent services to stops across the Metrolink network.
For Wythenshawe, Metrolink provides new and easier ways for people across Greater Manchester to reach the town centre and all it has to offer – as well as making it a more attractive place to live, work and do business. In addition the line gives improved accessibility for passengers using the Airport and makes the Airport Enterprise Zone an even more attractive investment opportunity for companies..
A 300-space park and ride facility – free for Metrolink passengers to use – is open at the Sale Water Park stop, conveniently located just off Junction 6 of the M60.
